Yuri Trutnev: The Far East has attracted more than 6 trillion rubles of investment over several years

The development of the Far East in the main areas - attracting investment, growth in industrial and manufacturing production, volume of construction work - is one and a half to two times higher than the Russian average.Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev reported this in an interview to the Rossiya-24 TV channel.

“During the year [2025], 522 new investment projects were attracted for a total amount of 1.16 trillion rubles.In general, based on the results of previous work, the figure is more than 6 trillion in investments already attracted to the Far East.I won’t even talk about the planned ones.The number of total investment projects is 3887. These include the Far East and the Arctic.The work continues,” said Yuri Trutnev.

Separately, the plenipotentiary spoke about the topic of international priority development territories, the launch of which, including in Transbaikalia, from January 1, 2026, was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on September 5 at the plenary meeting of the X Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).

The head of Transbaikalia, Alexander Osipov, emphasized on the sidelines of the EEF that the region has every opportunity to become a key platform for the creation of an international priority development area.This is already the most important transport corridor between the two countries: up to 70% of all land cargo from Russia and China passes through the Trans-Baikal Territory.The special preferential treatment of the international priority development area will attract additional capital investment in the region's infrastructure, create new transport and logistics facilities and jobs.

In general, in recent years, the amount of investment in the economy of Transbaikalia has exceeded 2.4 trillion rubles.In the field of mining, 50 projects are being implemented with a total investment volume of 1.7 trillion rubles.In addition, according to agreements concluded with residents of the Advanced Development Territory, the declared volume of capital investments is about a trillion rubles.

As Yuri Trutnev previously noted, over the past 10 years, the income of the subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District has increased by 2.1 times, in the Trans-Baikal Territory by 206%.
