New deposits of mineral and precious metals will be developed in Transbaikalia.Within the framework of the federal project “Geology.Renaissance of the legend ”29 new sections were determined in the region, on April 8, after a working visit to the region, Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of Russia Alexander Kozlov.

Federal project "Geology.The revival of the legend ”was developed by the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation in 2021.Its goal is to expand the mineral resource base of Russia and increase the geological knowledge of promising areas.

“We received targeted financing for the search for subsoil in the Far East and engaged in this work for several years.According to its results, 29 such sections of deposits will appear in Transbaikalia - these are coal, gold, polymetals.We will continue to work - look for uranium, smelter, clay, copper, ”said Alexander Kozlov.

He noted that the development of deposits involves the creation of plants and, as a result, the emergence of new jobs.In addition, Kozlov noted that the plans of the Russian government - the processing of raw materials and the production of goods, and not the production and export of concentrates abroad.

In February 2025, it became known that within the Chashshinsky Square, which is located in the Kalgan and Nerchinsk-Zavodsky districts of Transbaikalia, they would look for silver-containing polymetallic weapons.The customer is the Department of Subsoil Use to the Far Eastern Federal District.The amount of funding under the contract will amount to 518.3 million rubles from the federal budget.

As of January 1, 2022, 160 golden fibers were registered in Transbaikalia.64 licenses for geological studies, reconnaissance and production were issued, 96. And in October 2023, a state fee was introduced for export of ferrous, non -ferrous and precious metals, coal and fertilizers, which was supposed to stimulate internal processing and production.
