Local generation will help solve the problem of energy shortage in Transbaikalia

General Director of Chitaenergosbyt JSC Alexey Golikov said on March 11, during the presentation of the Chita Production and Logistics Park, that the lack of energy capacity is one of the serious limitations for the development of new business areas in Transbaikalia. However, the construction of local generation by new enterprises would solve this problem.

“When building and organizing new business areas in Transbaikalia, the issue of lack of utility resources becomes acute. In Chita, things are a little better, but in the regions the situation is more complicated - there is no safety margin and no free capacity for heat and water supply. In addition, the demand for free electrical energy capacity remains acute for the entire region,” noted Alexey Golikov.

According to him, the need to repair utility infrastructure leads to increased costs.

“We see that the participation of the state, represented by the government of Transbaikalia and municipalities, is necessary in forming a pool of potential companies that need technical connection so that they can share the costs among themselves. To do this, it is important to jointly plan the development of territories. In addition, there are opportunities to receive federal funds for technical connection. However, the most important factor for receiving such subsidies is the payback of the business project - it is important that the allocated funds are returned over time as tax revenues,” noted the general director of Chitaenergosbyt.

As for the lack of energy capacity, in this case enterprises can build their own generation facilities.

“While the construction of new power units at the Kharanorskaya GRES is underway, it is possible to build our own generation units.Today there are many technologies that allow us to generate electrical energy,” added Alexey Golikov.

He also emphasized that the Chita Industrial and Logistics Park is a successful project in terms of location and availability of utility infrastructure.

Recall that in Transbaikalia, the Inter RAO company began construction of the fourth and fifth power units at the Kharanorskaya State District Power Plant and is investing over 170 billion rubles in the project. The En+ Generation company will build a high-tech thermal power plant with an installed capacity of 1,050 megawatts in the southwest of the region. The work is being carried out in accordance with the goals and objectives of the national project “Infrastructure for Life.”

To modernize the region's power grid, last year a regulatory agreement was concluded between the regional government and Rosseti Sibir PJSC, according to which the company will gradually invest more than 21 billion rubles in the power grid complex until 2036.
