The Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East has announced the main theme of the XI Eastern Economic Forum: "The Far East – Development for the Benefit of People." The forum will be held from September 1 to 4 in Vladivostok.
The EEF will traditionally serve as a platform for discussing key areas of development for the macroregion, attracting investment, and implementing major projects. The focus will be on improving the quality of life for residents of the Far Eastern Federal District, developing modern infrastructure, launching new investment initiatives, technological development, and expanding cooperation with Asia-Pacific countries.
The forum's theme aligns with the priorities of the Strategy for the Socioeconomic Development of the Far East to 2030 with a Forecast to 2036, which is currently being developed. The document, being developed at the direction of Russian President Vladimir Putin, will define the key development areas for the region in the coming years. The strategy covers five major themes: overcoming infrastructure constraints, launching a new investment and technology cycle, developing science and technology, creating better conditions for residents, and climate adaptation.
