The results of the Transbaikalian Foreign Economic Forum “New Horizons” were summed up by the Governor of Transbaikalia, Alexander Osipov, in the “Topic of the Week” program on the Chita State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company on the Russia-24 channel.
The New Horizons Forum was held in the Trans-Baikal Territory on April 23-24.The event has the status of a visiting platform of the Eastern Economic Forum and for the fourth time brings together leading experts and representatives from Russia, China and Mongolia.
“The most important value is that we are conducting a dialogue with China and Mongolia about the joint development of projects. We realize our interests with the help of our neighbors. We are trying to build economic and humanitarian cooperation in such a way that the development of the Trans-Baikal Territory is as dynamic as possible. Our people go there on vacation, the Chinese are increasingly coming to us.The flow is constantly growing, and our interaction is also constantly growing,” the head of the region emphasized.
One of the key events of the forum was the signing of an agreement on the implementation of an investment project for the construction of the Dauria customs and logistics complex on the territory adjacent to the Zabaikalsk international checkpoint by the head of the region, Alexander Osipov, and the founder of the trading and production company Zarya, Dong Jie.
As noted by the Governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory, Alexander Osipov, the purpose of the investment agreement is to ensure that more finance from the transit of goods remains in Transbaikalia.
“The economy of our region is actively growing. The subject of negotiations with our Mongolian and Chinese friends was the development of various projects: tourism, agriculture, industrial development. Our task now is to ensure that transport flows leave as much money as possible in Transbaikalia. Those cargoes that go to China, and those cargoes that come from China. So that thanks to this, the well-being of Transbaikal residents and the infrastructure of settlements will develop,” said the head of the region.
